Gloria Androa

Royce Gloria Ayikoru Androa joined RC Arua as a Charter member on 2 May 2004, she was the first and only female member of the Club that time.

Gloria’s classification is Agricultural Consultancy Services. She has a Bachelor’s degree with Honors in Agriculture from Makerere University, Kampala, Post Graduate Diploma in Food and Nutrition from Wageningen, Netherlands, MSc in International Agricultural Development from the University of California in Davis, USA and several certificates and diplomas in various fields.

She initially served as Club director for service projects for 2 years and as a committee member of International service and vocational service, and has continued to serve at Club level as chair of service projects for 12 years.

Gloria served as Club President in 2012/13, as the Country Peace Chair for two years (2011-2013 and was the first Assistant District Governor for D9211 in charge of Northern Zone during Rotary year 2013/14, overseeing 6 clubs in the Northern Zone- (Arua, Gulu, Lira, Kalongo, Kitgum and Masindi). From July 2014, the Northern Zone was split into two zones.

Gloria Androa is a Director and treasurer of Malaria Partners Uganda, a Consultant in Agribusiness, food and Nutrition, Director of African Wild Bees Honey, a member of the Association of Uganda Professional Women in Agriculture and Environment, She serves on various boards at regional and national levels.

She is a co-author of Chapter 11 of the State of the World 2011, a Publication of World Watch Institute that was launched on January 11, 2011 in Washington DC; she was awarded a Role Model of Distinction in 1998 by Forum for African Women Educationalists.

Gloria is a mother of 5 beautiful daughters, (two of them are Rotarians) one son and “Dede” to twelve lovely grandchildren.
