Anthony Hulula
Anthony Richard Hulula, is a third born in a family of ten (10) children, two (2) boys and Eight (8) girls. Greatly, all his parents are alive, living and working in the rural village farm as peasants all through their life. Anthony, is married with one beautiful wife, blessed with four children, two (2) boys and two (2) girls all schooling at different levels.
Anthony, holds a Bachelor Degree in Education from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, a Masters of Art in Public Administration Management and Development from Mount Kenya University, and currently pursuing Advanced Diploma in Psychological Counseling. Anthony also through the years, has professionally earned certification in Child Safeguarding, Financial Management, Project Planning and Management, Monitoring & Evaluation, and Mainstreaming gender.
He is the Founder and current Director of The Ngao Foundation, (NGAO is a Swahili word meaning Shield) and an acronym- (NGAO: Noticeable, Growth, Aligned with Opportunities). Ngao is a registered foundation, based in serving vulnerable communities in Kenya through WASH, Education, Community Nutrition and Mentoring programs.
Anthony is a passionate Rotarian, community advisor, and a mind specialist serving as a Board member of several organizations both in Urban and rural areas in Kenya. Anthony has championed and participated in the development of active policies that advocate for water resource equity in the slums and informal settlements, access to safe clean drinking water for every child and households, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) governance and financing among others.
Anthony, recently helped the Rotary Club of Westlands in adopting WASH as its main concentration among the seven general Rotary service areas. With Rotarian life-force, Anthony serves the community in the best way possible to expedite the community in realizing its own potential to initiate sustainable change using the Asset Based Community Driven Development (ABCD) Model. Anthony holds a belief that through community Conversations, we bring the communities to its consciousness in terms of the assets, strengths, capacities and opportunities that lie unexploited within it.
Anthony is a mentor to many youths in the community where he supports them in a journey to answer three fundamental life questions: - WHO AM I? WHERE AM I GOING? AND HOW DO I GET THERE? Anthony is passionate about journeying with individuals, families through a mind mapping exercises.
Anthony works fulltime in the community and recognizes that genuine, sustainable change happens only when it comes from within an individual and within a community. It is the individual we teach, it the individual we touch, and it is the individual that gets transformed for the community to change.
He is the current Service Projects Director with Rotary Club of Westlands Nairobi.
